Kerr goes flag-to-flag in Volunteer Speedway ‘Southern Nationals’ victory

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (July 25) — Tommy Kerr of Maryville has won many feature races during his career, but none bigger than Friday night’s O’Reilly Southern National Series Super Late Model event presented by Rusty Wallace Toyota of Morristown at Volunteer Speedway. Kerr launched into the lead at the drop of the green and never looked back en route to the crowd-pleasing, flag-to-flag romp to victory in the 53-lap main for a payday of $5,300. -> Read More

Junction City, Kentucky-July 25, 2008- Ponderosa Speedway returned with race action after a week layoff and Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY would take top honors in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model main event for the third time this season, while Gary Yeager of Harrodsburg, KY would score his second Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Model feature victory of the season. Gray rolls to impressive United Sprint Car Series victory at Volunteer Speedway

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (July 19) Six-time and defending O' Reilly United Sprint Car Series national champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tenn., had never laid eyes on Volunteer Speedway until Saturday night's running of Summer Fury at The Gap. But when the checkered flag waved, Gray was parked in victory lane celebrating another accomplishment in his storied sprint car racing career winning on his first-ever visit to a racetrack.

PUTNAMVILLE — Dickie Gaines has taken on some of the best sprint car drivers in the nation during the last week as Indiana Sprint Week invaded.

Two weeks prior, Gaines tuned up for the annual event that welcomes USAC’s toughest hotshoes to the state by besting a large field for a win at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Richmond, KY-July 18, 2008- The Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Open Wheel Modified division presented by Graphic Impressions returned to action at Mark and Tommy Trimble’s Richmond Raceway and Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN continued his winning streak in “BoB Mod Squad” action, picking up the $1,500 to win Modified portion of the Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial in an event that was shortened to 20 laps and plagued by eight cautions along the way. -> Read more

lane for the first time in 2008 - July 18
Alliquippa, Pennsylvania's Tim Shaffer continued his hot streak of late, taking the 410 sprint victory. It marks the third win this month since taking over the duties of the Aaron Call Motorsports #83."The track was tricky tonight, but Brian (Kemenah) had the car perfect. This
win goes out to Brian's sister (Lori Havens) who was hurt pretty badly today in a car crash," said Shaffer beside the Kistler Race Products, Ray Tech
Industries backed J&J Chassis. "I didn't know if I could get around Byron (Reed)...he was pretty strong. I could get to him and I just tried to rattle his cage a little and it worked," added Shaffer who took the lead on lap 10
when Reed drove over the cushion in turn four and spun.
