Dirt Scoops: Tell us how you got interested in racing:

"Well my Dad was on the track crew at Queen City Speedway the, old Tri County Speedway, and my Mom worked as am EMT at the track. So I pretty much grew up around racing;

"You could say it's in my blood", Rodney shares with Dirt Scoops.

Dirt Scoops: Tell us about your family:

"My family is great. My beautiful wife Cindy, of 13 years, I 'hope' is my biggest fan.And my sister, Danita, who makes it a point to be at the track every time I go. Without my brother, Larry, I may have never sat in a race car as a driver. "

"We built a 74 Monte Carlo, funded solely by him and ran asphalt at Kil-Kare Speedway in the beginner class. Also, Ricky, my younger brother, who has always been there for me. I love you all!"

Dirt Scoops: List your career high lights:

" Well, not much to list here. I raced go karts a few times, I ran asphalt at Kil-Kare Speedway. Our best finish was 9th. I ran my first race on dirt in a modified owned by Brian Gray and now I have my own Pure stock I am running at Lawrenceburg Speedway."

Dirt Scoops: Which one of your races stands out the most in your mind and why:

" I think the race that stands out the most would have to be when I drove Brian Grays modified at the 'Burg'. I wasn't really sure about the open wheel thing, but I gave it all I had and stayed on the lead lap and took the car home in one piece"

Dirt Scoops: We all know it takes more than one person to be successful in racing, who do you feel contributes to your career success?

"First and Foremost 'GOD', without him, nothing is possible This interview would not be possible. I want to spread his
name though racing, that is my ultimate goal. Next, would be my family; my wife, Cindy for putting up with all the long nights at the shop. She has been a real champ through it all. My brothers, Larry and Ricky, I don't think I could go to the track without them by my side. Brain Gray, who has helped tremendously with my Pure stock. Scott, my brother in law, and all my friends. No way to list them all, but they know who they are.Oh did I mention GOD!!!"
