This months showcase driver for the Late Model class is Chad Stapleton.

A little about Chad

What can I say? What is that orange streak that I see on the track? None other than the Mr. Chad Stapleton in the show graphic riddled '32' Car tearing around the track! This car and driver really stand out among all of the competition and is one to watch in the future!

Not only has he shown great promise in the the orange late model, but can also be found in the silver/gray bomber car as well!

Getting personal with Chad...

Chad shares, "I grew up in Edinburgh Indiana and still live here.  I have 2 great kids Austin and Rilee.  I'm not married but been in the same relationship for 9 years now with Misty.  My family life is great and they all support my racing for the most part.  But it can get crazy from time to time."

"All through school I was an athlete who was very competitive and as life went on I needed to find that competition again.  My In laws all race, so, I guess that got me started in it."

"2007 season was my second year ever being around racing.  I never got into when I was younger, so I guess I'm a late starter.  I raced Brownstown bombers full time last year, and Super Late models a couple of times.  In 2008 it will be Late Model full time.  Most of the guys that race have been around racing there whole life.  So this whole racing thing is still new to me."

When asked who inspired him or who he looks up to:

"As a fans view I'm a Don O'neal fan.  But I respect all drivers. It's not as easy as people think.  My father has inspired me the most, closley followed by people that say I cant do it."

The race that stand out most for Chad? "My first feature win of my life at Thunder Valley and my first feature win at Brownstown.", but goes on to share, "Holding the track record at Moler although they haven't qualified much, it is still pretty cool .  That was only my third time in a LM."

We asked Chad if he had a chance to race at a track he hasn't been to yet, where would that be?

He answered: "Eastbay. I will run there this year and get my butt kicked but it will be great experience."

The only funny story he can remember in racing  was getting mad and kicking a tire and breaking my toe. (OUCH!)

What advice does Chad pass on to rookies?

"Its all about patience and staying under control.  Keep your cool.  Never thought I would say that."

Dirt Scoops: What plans do you have next year and what tracks will your fans be able to watch you race at?

Chad shares, " Eastbay, Brownstown, Twin cities, Lawerenceburg, Moler, Bardstown, Florence, any track with in 200 mile radius of my house."

Dirt Scoops: We all know racing is a 'team' sport, who can you share with us who helped you get where you are today?

"The main person is Joe Godsey, without Joe things just wouldn't happen! I appreciate everything he does.  My father is also a big part of my racing along with Brian and Steve Wilhite, Ben Burton, Keith Beier, Eddie Hodge and Mike Bennett, and the man up above who keeps us all safe."

Chad's Career Highlights:

"Multiple heat and feature wins at Brownstown and Salem in the Bomber.  One heat win and fast qualifier in the Late Model."

A note from Chad:

"Special thinks to all my sponsors:  Right way construction, Tri county auto parts, GMR, Cowboy Race cars, Bennett Motorsports, Smokin Joes suspension, Indiana Decal, K&S racing images, The Restoration church, Pro fit Performance, Premier Suspension, Core Capital, and Russell Baker Racing engines."
