I am pleased to present this months showcase, South Carolina's 12 year old Zack Mitchell. Apparently Zack took to racing, like a fish to water, as if it is instinct. Zack has been racing since he was 5 years old, starting out in go carts. His first track, per Zacks mom, was in the back yard, for practice. He started in local events and graduated to national events. Now, this accomplished 12 year old has graduated to the Crate Late Model class, and is making a name for himself at the local tracks. He won his first Crate Late Model feature on May 10, 2008 at Cherokee Speedway, and I am sure it will not be his last. Zack started racing go karts at 5 years old. In 2007, Zack raced in the Young Guns division of dirt track racing and in 2008 Crate Limited Late Model Division of dirt track racing, which he still competes in today. His most favorable win was beating “Big John” Pursley on Saturday Night, May 10, 2008 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. His most memorable moment was meeting Scott Bloomquist at March Madness at Cherokee Speedway. His career goal is to race NASCAR some day. This kid may be young, but he already racing like a pro! Now, more about Zack. |
