Lawrenceburg
Track Expansion Update!
Looks like the track
is on it's way to a sensational season opener!
After the announcement
in 2007 of the proposed Lawrenceburg track expansion, all
area drivers and fans have been patiently awaiting the 2008
opening of the new expanded 3/8th track. Monthly, Dave Rudisell
has been adding photos and statements on the official Lawrenceburg
Speedway website, where curious fans and drivers could
check on progress of this work.
In the mean time, Dave
Rudisell has been working with Mason and Tawnya Fleetwood
of Twin Cities
Racway Park, to be able to provide a track for the Lawrenceburg
Chevrolet Sprints to race at.
Dave Rudisell was on
hand at Twin Cities Raceway track, making time to stop and
talk with the drivers as well as fans. The Lawrenceburg safety
and push trucks were also on hand at Twin Cities doing an
awesome job of getting the sprints going on the track and
off of the track. With the shiny McDonalds vehicles, it almost
felt like like you were at the Lawrenceburg Track!
According to the latest
update on the website, Lawrenceburg Speedway is getting really
close to it's first race of 2008. The 3/8ths track expansion
is nearing it's completion, and the season opener is planned
has been postponed til May 27
May 31. (Due to weather) See link below for details
of racing. http://www.lawrenceburgspeedway.com/event_calendar.php?id=55
People who have seen
the track state with excitement, "A lot of work has been
done, the track is really looking good, we can't wait to try
it out! We thought the track was fast before, this will only
make it faster!"
This expansion in hand
with the already great facilities will make the track even
more appealing for fans and drivers to venture to this 2008
season. Also, look for fan promotionals through-out the season.
The track always has give-a-ways for the fans (t-shirts, tickets,
hats, and all sorts of goodies). They really cater to children
with trivia games and other games inbetween races, or when
the races are at a stand still awaiting a car to be removed
off the track.

Speedway website.
